Azerbaijan’s demining agency ANAMA has reported significant progress in clearing landmines and unexploded ordnance across territories regained after the conflict, covering the period from April 6 to April 12.

According to the latest update, operations were carried out in a wide range of districts, including Aghdam, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Zangilan, Kalbajar, Lachin, Shusha and others, reflecting the масштаб of ongoing clearance efforts.

During the week, specialists neutralized 144 anti-personnel mines, 47 anti-tank mines, and more than 1,600 pieces of unexploded ordnance. In total, over 2,050 hectares of land were cleared, making it safer for reconstruction work and civilian movement.

Demining remains one of the key priorities in Azerbaijan’s post-conflict recovery. Vast areas are still contaminated, creating risks for residents and delaying infrastructure projects as well as the return of displaced communities.

The latest figures highlight both the scale of the challenge and the steady pace of progress on the ground.
