In an exclusive interview with Caliber.Az, prominent Ukrainian journalist and public figure Dmytro Gordon offered high praise for Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, describing him as a man of exceptional intellect, culture, and political insight.
“I want to say that Ilham Aliyev speaks Russian a thousand times better than the vast majority of Russian nationalists. In general, he is a man of high culture, a high level of education, great intellect, and an amazing sense of humour. We had a very good, interesting one-on-one conversation, and I was truly impressed by the scale of his personality, his extraordinary sense of humour, and his deep understanding of the nuances of global politics,” Gordon said.
“You know, I told him that it is incredibly rare for children to live up to the level of their fathers. I can count on one hand the cases where a great father had a son of the same calibre. I want to say that Heydar Aliyev, without a doubt, if he were alive, would be proud of his son’s actions, his mission, and the outcomes of his policies. It truly is a rarity,” the journalist added.
