According to Report, a high-level trilateral meeting was held in the city of Turkmenbashi with the participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
At the start of the meeting, the three leaders posed for a joint photo before proceeding to a document-signing ceremony. The talks focused on expanding cooperation in energy, transport, and regional connectivity.
President Mirziyoyev proposed that Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan explore opportunities for joint geological exploration and development of offshore fields in the Caspian Sea. He also highlighted Uzbekistan’s interest in building up its ferry infrastructure for cargo transport across the Caspian.
The Uzbek President’s office noted that the leaders underscored the importance of energy security, deeper cooperation, and the development of export corridors for energy resources to third countries. In this context, the project to supply green energy to Europe was highlighted as particularly promising, alongside continued cooperation on traditional hydrocarbons.
