In Tashkent, the founding documents of the International NGO “Alliance of Logistics Centers and Freight Carriers” were signed under the OTS auspices. Askar Kadyrov, a representative from the private sector of Uzbekistan, was appointed as the Secretary-General of the Alliance along with members of the Secretariat.
The new structure aims to promote the development of freight transportation and logistics centers within OTS countries. The organization will unite legal entities and individuals engaged in logistics, freight transportation, engineering works, and consulting services in this sector.
Participants of the meeting were briefed on the Alliance’s objectives, which include expanding effective cooperation among major logistics centers, freight carriers, terminals, maritime and land ports in Turkic countries. They also discussed enhancing the region’s transportation and logistics potential through the implementation of innovative solutions.
Additionally, the role of the Alliance in contributing to the economic growth of OTS member countries was emphasized.
It’s worth noting that OTS members include Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, with Uzbekistan becoming a full member in 2019. Hungary and Turkmenistan hold observer status.
