He believes that the lack of response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran is ambiguous.
“There has been no reaction, no call to the Azerbaijani counterpart, no expression of condolences, no confirmation of any commitment to investigating the attack, and so on,” says F. Mammadov.
According to him, it is also deplorable that such a terrorist attack occurs against the background of the normalization of relations between the countries, especially after the meeting of Iranian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers in Tashkent. This shows that there are forces in Iran that oppose the normalization of relations and have the resources to organize terrorist attacks with far-reaching repercussions.
“Iran’s attitudes, anti-Azerbaijani rhetoric and propaganda are the foundation for such terrorist attacks. There can be no doubt that this was an act of terrorism, and not a one-man attack, because all the information available at the moment suggests that the attack was planned in advance, and the terrorist’s goal was to kill as many people as possible. We all know very well that any embassy in any country is heavily guarded. But the behavior of the Iranian guards shows that this agency also had a hand in the terrorist attack,” F. Mammadov sums up.
