Speakers at the event, co-organized by the Council of Polish Azerbaijanis and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Poland gave detailed information on the February 25-26 1992, the Armenian armed forces occupied the city of Khojaly with the participation of the 366th motorized rifle regiment located in Khankendi and killed peaceful Azerbaijanis with unprecedented cruelty. The names of the children killed during the Khojaly Genocide were listed and it was noted that Armenian executioners put an end to their dreams and lives on a cold February night.
It was noted that the Azerbaijani State has worked purposefully over the right voice of our people to the world and recognition the Khojaly Genocide in the international arena and since 2008 this activity has been expanded by the International Campaign “Justice for Khojaly”. As a result, this terrible genocide, accompanied by a flagrant violation by some countries of human values, norms and principles of international law, has been officially given a political assessment. However, the Khojaly Genocide, on of the bloodiest crimes commited at the international level in the XX century, was not legally assessed and the criminals were not brought to justice.
Then the play “Khojaly – it happened” performed by the actors of the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater was presented. The delivery of the horrors of the Khojaly genocide in pantomime had a great impact on the Polish audience.
It should be noted that with the support of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, about 150 events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide are planned to be held in 40 countries.
