Talks were held in Baku between President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Vice President of the United States James David Vance, who is on a working visit to the region.
The two leaders first held a one-on-one meeting, during which they discussed key issues on the bilateral agenda as well as current regional developments. The talks then continued in an expanded format with the participation of members of the official delegations.
According to official sources, the discussions focused on Azerbaijan–U.S. cooperation, prospects for advancing political dialogue, expanding economic and investment ties, and the overall situation in the South Caucasus region.

In this context, the role of the United States in facilitating the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan and in creating conditions for long-term peace was discussed.
The sides also exchanged views on regional security, changes in the architecture of international and transport-economic links, as well as a number of global issues of mutual interest.
