The Committee Chairman noted that despite living in Germany for many years, Professor Messoud Efendiyev continues to work for the development of his homeland and people. He highlighted Efendiyev’s contributions to the development of the Azerbaijani diaspora and his achievements in mathematics.
During the meeting, Messoud Efendiyev was awarded the “Heydar Aliyev 100th Anniversary (1923-2023)” commemorative medal by the decree of President Ilham Aliyev.
Messoud Efendiyev is the first and only Azerbaijani scientist to receive the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s award for young scientists in 1996 and the “Fellowship for Experienced Researchers” award in 2015. In 2018, he led the “Mathematical Biology Thematic” program as a “Deans Distinguished Professor” in Toronto. In 2023, he was awarded the Fields Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
