Bern, February 8, 2025 – A meeting was held at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Switzerland between Fuad Isgandarov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein, and Azerbaijani youth residing in the country, as well as Azerbaijani students from various universities in Switzerland. The event was dedicated to Azerbaijan Youth Day.
In his speech, Ambassador Isgandarov emphasized the crucial role of youth in societal development and strengthening international relations, highlighting that Azerbaijani students and young professionals abroad represent their country and build bridges of friendship between Azerbaijan and Switzerland.
“Youth is the future of our country. No matter where you are, you represent Azerbaijan, and your contribution to science, culture, and the economy is important not only for yourselves but also for the entire nation,” the ambassador stressed.
During the meeting, participants asked various questions regarding diaspora life, education, career opportunities, and potential support from the embassy. Ambassador Isgandarov particularly noted that Azerbaijan always stands by its citizens abroad and is ready to provide assistance in various matters.
Following the official part of the event, an informal networking session took place, allowing young Azerbaijanis to get to know each other better as well as meet embassy staff. Concluding the meeting, the ambassador reminded that all Azerbaijanis living and studying in Switzerland can reach out to the embassy for support on any issue.
“Azerbaijan stands behind you. In any situation, you can count on our support,” he stated.
The meeting served as an important step in strengthening connections among Azerbaijani youth in Switzerland, fostering new contacts and dialogue, and emphasizing the significance of preserving national identity while living abroad.
