International partners interested in the normalization of relations should support the steps taken by Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov told a press briefing with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Catherine Colonna, Report informs.
He said that the parties also talked about the mission of the European Union (EU) in Armenia.
The minister said the mission should focus on the creation of the atmosphere of trust and take into account the legitimate rights of Azerbaijan.
He voiced regret that the recent statements made by the mission leadership do not serve the mission’s activities.
These were provocative statements, the minister said, adding that Azerbaijan reacted accordingly to the statements.
He called on the EU mission in Armenia to avoid the statements and steps that hinder the peace process.

Azerbaijan has not seen France making any calls on Armenia over the past 2.5 years, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a press conference after a meeting with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, Report informs.

“The volume of mutual investments between Azerbaijan and France has reached several billion dollars,” Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, said at the joint press conference with the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, Report informs.
“We discussed the development prospects of bilateral relations, as well as regional issues at the meeting,” Bayramov said. “Last year, we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. During this period, relations in various fields developed very dynamically. These fields include joint energy projects, space, humanitarian, social, and other areas.”

Armenia is expected to return to the negotiating table soon thanks to the calls of the international community, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a press conference after a meeting with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, Report informs.
The foreign minister noted that Azerbaijan has called and continues to call for peace and is ready to continue negotiations on the normalization of relations.
Bayramov added that during the meeting he informed the French foreign minister about Azerbaijan’s position at the post-conflict stage, in particular on the issue of signing a peace treaty with Armenia.

According to him, as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War, Azerbaijan liberated its lands based on its Constitution, UN Charter, and legitimate rights: “However, in the post-conflict period, certain disagreements arose in relations with France.
