The main topic of consultations is plans for 2023 in the context of the challenging situation in the region. The meeting will take place shortly after new Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen took office on January 2.

Thus, Azerbaijan will once again become a platform for a highly important international event, which will draw the attention of the whole world. Baku was chosen as the venue for this significant gathering for a reason. President Ilham Aliyev’s growing weight in the international arena strengthens the country’s political power and positively impacts the processes in the region. As the economic, cultural, as well as scientific and intellectual center of the region, Azerbaijan hosts international events where the most pressing problems of the modern world are discussed and gathers in Baku the influential academic, cultural and political elite of the civilized world.

Numerous meetings in Baku between the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and the Commander-in-Chief of NATO Allied Forces in Europe are a striking example of this. This proves that Azerbaijan is perceived by international power centers as an island of stability and a safe platform.

Azerbaijan’s international prestige and geopolitical and geo-economic power have been growing after the second Karabakh war. Against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine, the strategic importance of official Baku, as it forms mutually beneficial ties of cooperation with global centers of power, is also further increasing.

The events of the past year alone show how much the international role of the President of Azerbaijan has increased in the world, particularly in Europe. Leaders of various countries want to meet with the Azerbaijani leader at various levels, to get his opinion on the issues discussed, and to further improve relations with Azerbaijan.

Regular international meetings of this kind in Baku serve to consolidate Azerbaijan’s position in the world as a platform for cooperation.

The decision of the Israeli authorities to hold one of the most important foreign policy meetings in the capital of Azerbaijan indicates not only the level of confidence in our country as a strategic partner of Israel, but also once again confirms the further strengthening of our country’s international prestige. President Ilham Alyev’s personality plays a crucial role in enhancing Azerbaijan’s image as the author and guarantor of the country’s foreign policy course. The trust and reliance on Azerbaijan stem from the trust in President Ilham Aliyev.
