The proposal by German deputy Frank Schwabe to not approve the credentials of the Azerbaijani delegation was supported, and the decision was referred to the Monitoring Committee for further consideration.
The Azerbaijani delegation participated in today’s session, but their voting rights were restricted. The main reason cited was that in 2023, the Azerbaijani side did not allow access to the Lachin corridor and did not permit monitoring of the situation in Karabakh, as well as meetings with Azerbaijani “political prisoners.”
The Monitoring Committee is required to make a decision within 24 hours.
