The ministers first held the one-on-one meeting, followed by the meeting in an expanded format with the participation of delegations of the two countries.
During the expanded meeting, the sides discussed the topical issues of the multifaceted, bilateral and regional cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Türkiye as well as the current situation in the region.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov hailed the dynamics of development of relations with brotherly Türkiye in various areas, including political, economic, trade, military, defense industry, energy security, investment, humanitarian, educational and cultural spheres. He also stressed the importance of allied relations, based on the friendship, brotherhood, mutual support and solidarity, in ensuring stability in the region.
The Azerbaijani FM briefed his Turkish counterpart about the post-conflict situation in the region, ongoing large-scale reconstruction and restoration works launched in the liberated territories, Azerbaijan’s activity regarding the three tracks of peace process, namely, signing a peace treaty, delimitation of borders and opening of regional communications as well as Armenian provocations hindering the peace process.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that he would spare no efforts to contribute to the further development of the existing bilateral relations based on the common history, culture and values. He described the two countries’ standing by each other in the most difficult days as a sign of brotherhood between the two countries which is not only in words but also in deeds.
The meeting also saw discussions on other issues of mutual interest as well as bilateral and regional issues.
The ministers then made press statements on the outcomes of the meeting and responded to questions from journalists.
