Some 924,000 Armenian citizens left the country, while 882,000 arrived in Armenia during the first eight months of this year, Caliber.Az reports citing the Armenian media.
In fact, the Armenian population with Armenian citizenship has decreased by 42,000 people within a few months.
“A huge disadvantage is obvious from the point of view of Armenia’s present and future security. The fact is that Armenian citizens are leaving the country, most of whom are liable for military service. If this trend continues, then there will be obvious problems in the future both with the mobilisation and the planned conscription to the Armenian Armed Forces, which, of course, reduces the level of the state’s defence capability,” the message said.
