Since last night, the fake “sensation” has been diligently disseminated in the Armenian social media groups: “disguised Azerbaijani military personnel” and even “secret service employees” are said to be keeping watch on the road.
We will leave aside the questions of why there are so many women among the “disguised military” and why so many participants of the protest are not even of conscription age. Here is what is really important here.
First, the Azerbaijani army has no need to “disguise” its personnel and pretend to be “environmentalists” or anyone else in the territory of Azerbaijan. In the territory of its own country, the army has the right to act absolutely legally, and the Armenian public could see this on the Saribaba and Farrukh heights.
And second, most importantly, the picketers are civil activists, known not only in Azerbaijan, but also outside its borders, people who are well known in the global civil community, including through their participation in international projects.
Even fake news making needs a functioning brain.
