In the video circulated online on April 13, unknown persons are seen inhumanely beating the unarmed servicemen of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces while insulting him simultaneously.
After heavy kicks, the soldier lies on the ground with his mouth and head bleeding.

The tortured serviceman was one of two conscripts of the Azerbaijani army detained by the Armenian forces. They recently got lost due to unfavourable weather conditions in the direction of the Shahbuz region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, bordering Armenia. His arrest took place on April 13, 2023, according to the Armenian Ministry of Defence.
International humanitarian organisations should express a clear position and demand appropriate measures be taken. The use of force against an unarmed soldier is a violation of international humanitarian law and should be considered a war crime.
Human rights organisations should force the Armenian authorities to investigate the incident, and ensure that international observers have access to the detained soldier to provide him with the necessary medical treatment and to monitor his rights.
The editorial staff of Caliber.Az is already sending requests to the diplomatic missions of foreign countries accredited in Azerbaijan, as well as to the representations of international organisations in our country, for comments on the inhumane actions of the Armenian side. However, we can already presume with great probability that, with few exceptions, international organisations will either limit themselves to trite statements or keep silent as it has been happening for 30 years of occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia.
