The final version of the document contains 17 articles, 13 of which have already been agreed upon, including the preamble. Pashinyan proposed signing the peace treaty based on the agreed articles and continuing to negotiate the remaining issues.
He also expressed his willingness to meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the border to continue the negotiations. Additionally, Pashinyan revealed that during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he expressed a preference for direct negotiations with Azerbaijan. Pashinyan emphasized that Yerevan considers the bilateral format of negotiations with Baku to be the most effective at this stage.
Furthermore, Pashinyan mentioned the recent signing of the Regulation on the Joint Activity of Border Demarcation Commissions and did not rule out the possibility of multilateral formats. He also stated that Armenia is prepared to provide Azerbaijan with a corridor to Nakhchivan but emphasized that Armenia’s sovereignty cannot be compromised.
Regarding the international climate forum COP-29 in Baku, Pashinyan noted that a decision on participation will be made depending on the situation at that time. Finally, he stressed that the proposed logic of returning Armenians to Karabakh is unrealistic and dismissed rumors about signing a decision to dismantle the separatist regime in Karabakh.
