“We have become significantly more active on the international stage. The mediation efforts between different countries, which you mentioned, are only a part of this broader engagement,” President Aliyev stated.
He underlined Azerbaijan’s evolving status: “We have truly become an active member of the international community. Through our strong ties with a range of international actors, we are in a position to—and will—play a more prominent role, particularly in matters affecting the broader region.”
Reflecting on the post-conflict environment, President Aliyev said: “Especially following the resolution of the Karabakh conflict, the prospects for regional stability, security, and development are now greater than ever before. This, in turn, is a key factor in advancing connectivity initiatives.”
He further stressed the importance of diplomacy and trust in regional integration efforts: “The second major factor is maintaining good relations with our neighbors. Without such relations, a country cannot become a viable transit hub. It is equally important to have strong ties not only with immediate neighbors but also with their neighbors. Achieving this requires proactive diplomacy and a solid reputation as a dependable partner.”
“For years, our strategy has been to build confidence and demonstrate that Azerbaijan is a trustworthy nation—where our commitments carry the same weight as our signatures. So far, we have succeeded in that effort,” the head of state concluded.
