An international conference under the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) has opened in Baku, bringing together participants to discuss the role of women in driving sustainable development.
Held under the theme of amplifying women’s voices, the event features panel discussions on entrepreneurship in small and medium-sized businesses, with a focus on the opportunities created by AI and digitalization, as well as women’s leadership in environmental protection and sustainability.
The conference also marks the launch of the CICA Women Council, with its inaugural meeting taking place on the sidelines of the event.
Organizers say the initiative aims to strengthen coordination, dialogue, and the exchange of experience among CICA member states, particularly in advancing women’s participation across key sectors.
The event will conclude with a joint press conference by Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, and CICA Secretary General Kairat Sarybay.
