Azerbaijan is withdrawing its diplomatic personnel from Iran.
This was announced by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov.
According to the minister, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has decided on the complete withdrawal of the country’s diplomatic staff from Iran.
“This process concerns both the embassy in Tehran and the consulate in Tabriz. Relevant work in this direction is currently underway,” he noted.
Bayramov also stated that during a phone conversation with Iran’s foreign minister the previous day, the sides discussed this issue. According to him, the Iranian side promised to conduct a serious investigation, and Baku expects its results.
