Azerbaijan has demanded urgent explanations from Iran following drone attacks on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
According to preliminary information, two unmanned aerial vehicles crossed into Azerbaijani territory. One drone crashed into the terminal building of Nakhchivan Airport, while the second fell near a school in the village of Shekarabad.
In a statement, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the drone attacks carried out from Iranian territory, stressing that such actions contradict the norms and principles of international law and contribute to escalating tensions in the region.
The Azerbaijani side emphasized that it expects immediate clarification from Tehran regarding the incident and stated that Azerbaijan reserves the right to take appropriate response measures.
