President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has underlined his country’s strong interest in further strengthening relations with Azerbaijan.
“We have a special and strong interest in strengthening and expanding our bilateral relations with your friendly country, and we wish to elevate them to a higher level,” Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said during an expanded meeting with President Ilham Aliyev in Baku. He stressed that the UAE is constantly seeking new opportunities for cooperation that will benefit both sides and contribute to sustainable development.
President Ilham Aliyev, in turn, highlighted the successful development of political relations between the two countries. “We always stand by each other in international organizations. We support each other,” he noted.
The Azerbaijani leader emphasized the importance of mutual investments and the deepening cooperation in the oil and gas sector. He also drew attention to the agreements signed during the visit, particularly those in the transport sector, which he described as having “great prospects.”
“Our relations with the United Arab Emirates are built on brotherhood and friendship. The numerous documents signed today will raise our relations to a new level,” President Aliyev stressed.
Among the agreements, he singled out the Joint Declaration on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, describing it as a document that elevates political relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE to the highest level.
