Mubadala Energy, a division of Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund, is interested in working with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) on international exploration and production projects, SOCAR president Rovshan Najaf said.
“Within the framework of BakuEnergyWeek, we held a productive meeting with Mansoor Mohamed Al Hamed, Managing Director & CEO of Mubadala Energy, to explore cooperation opportunities across Azerbaijan’s evolving energy sector,” Najaf posted on Linkedin.
The talks focused on “potential joint initiatives internationally in upstream projects and broader energy sector,” he said.
“The meeting also underscored the mutual interest in fostering a long-term partnership with SOCAR. We value our collaboration with leading global energy companies and remain committed to sustainable growth and innovation in the energy sector,” Najaf said.
Mubadala Energy, which is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, operates in the Middle East, North Africa, Russia and Southeast Asia, producing 430,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
SOCAR and Mubadala Energy are now working together on a project to develop the Tamar gas field off the coast of Israel, in which they hold stakes of 10% and 11%, respectively.
