As Report informs, this was stated by the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev to the Jordan News Agency.
According to Hajiyev, the two countries have established strong, long-standing and truly fraternal relations. He particularly noted the sustainable dialogue between the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and King Abdullah II of Jordan, calling the contacts between the leaders “the cornerstone of bilateral cooperation.”
Hajiyev emphasized the significance of the visit of Jordan’s Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah to Baku last year and his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev within the framework of the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29). He characterized the negotiations as productive and strategically important for further strengthening the Azerbaijani-Jordanian partnership.
“Following this meeting, the President of Azerbaijan instructed the government to intensify work on deepening ties with Jordan, especially in the areas of economy and trade,” the publication quotes Hajiyev as saying.
Baku and Amman continue close coordination in international forums and hold similar positions on a number of pressing issues on the global agenda, added the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan.
