In the cozy, club-like creative space “Etude” in Baku, an evening unfolded where literature and art intertwined in an elegant dance of thought and emotion. The occasion was a soirée dedicated to the presentation of A Stained Glass Beyond Time — a collection of philosophical poetry by Aydin Efendi and prose by Azer Agalarov, known under the pseudonym Steven Wolf, as reported by Trend Life.
Azer Agalarov captivated the audience with his short stories and novellas, which he describes as “musical-visual literature” in the surrealist genre — a mesmerizing blend of sound, color, and words that immerses the reader in a world of dreams and reflection. The poetry of Aydin Efendi was recited with particular reverence — a tribute to the Master of Words, whose spirit lingers in every verse, filling the room with awe and a gentle melancholy. His legacy remains alive and inspiring. The works were read with heartfelt sincerity by Ulviya Akhundova and Natavan Mejidova, offering listeners profound emotions and experiences. A special highlight of the evening was the screening of the short film Beyond the Stage, created through the artistic collaboration of Leyla Begim and Azer Agalarov. Inspired by Agalarov’s story Rain, the film has gained recognition at international film festivals and vividly portrays the delicate boundary between dream and reality, between stage and backstage.
Following the screening, the venue came alive with lively discussion. Film expert Ulvi Mehti, jazz musician and People’s Artist Salman Gambarov, renowned vocalist Gasim Khalilov, and theater producer Alekper Tagizade shared their impressions and inspirations.
