He made this statement at the opening of the final session of the Strategic Dialogue between Armenia and the United States.
The Foreign Minister recalled that on April 5, a high-level meeting took place in Brussels, which concluded with expanded cooperation and significant potential for promoting peace and stability in the South Caucasus. In this context, Mirzoyan reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to normalizing relations with Azerbaijan and the process of delimiting borders based on mutual recognition of territorial integrity, in accordance with the Alma-Ata Declaration.
The minister believes that there is a “historic real moment to finalize a peace treaty, the signing of which could open a new door for lasting peace in the region.”
Mirzoyan emphasized Armenia’s interest in opening all regional communications based on sovereignty, equality of countries, and reciprocity, as reflected in the Armenian government’s “Crossroads of Peace” initiative.
