“Belarus and Azerbaijan can rightfully be proud of the achieved level of cooperation, significantly based on the friendship between our countries’ leaders and the high intensity of contacts at all levels of interaction. The recent state visit of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko confirmed that our strategic partnership will continue to strengthen, and mutually beneficial cooperation will actively develop based on traditions of friendship and mutual understanding. This visit has become a powerful impetus for moving towards each other. The result of the constructive and fruitful negotiations between the heads of state and the leaders of the countries’ state bodies is a series of new joint projects,” he said.
Petrishenko noted that the heads of state have set challenging but achievable tasks.
“We need to seriously expand production cooperation – in addition to tractors, we will assemble municipal and other equipment, as well as Belarusian elevators, in Azerbaijan. We will supply fire-fighting equipment. Together with our Azerbaijani friends, we will build a multi-brand service center for servicing Belarusian equipment. We plan to create joint production of pharmaceutical and veterinary drugs, as well as the production of mixed fertilizers from Azerbaijani nitrogen and Belarusian potassium,” the Vice Premier reported.
He also emphasized that “Belarus will make a concrete contribution to the revival of Karabakh.”
“One of our main projects will be the creation of a comprehensive modern agro-town in the Aghdam district, which will include the production and processing of agricultural products, as well as housing and social facilities for workers and their families. We plan to present the concept of this comprehensive project to the heads of state,” added Petrishenko.
Moreover, he stressed that the economic sphere has been and remains at the forefront of the partnership between the two countries, as it yields real mutually beneficial results.
“I am convinced that with joint efforts we will be able to bring to life all the agreements reached at the highest level and implement joint projects for the benefit of our countries and peoples,” concluded the Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister.
