This was stated by President Ilham Aliyev during a meeting with the chairmen of the parliaments of TURKPA member countries.
According to him, the new highway leading to Shusha includes 7 tunnels, 9 viaducts, and numerous bridges, with most of the contractors being Turkish companies.
“At the same time, the process of restoring railways is progressing rapidly. The contractor for the Horadiz-Aghbend railway is also Turkish companies. In other words, we can clearly see the unity of the Turkic world in the liberated territories,” noted the president.
“Moreover, we are always delighted when high-ranking officials from brotherly countries visit our country. The Turkic world is a large family with great potential, covering a vast geography. Transport routes, energy resources, human capital, a growing population, and a positive demographic situation – this is an enormous potential. Our task is to turn this potential into a great power on a global scale. I am confident that this will happen, and we can see it. Every meeting, every summit is another step towards our goals,” added the head of state.
The president reminded that in exactly one month, an informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States will be held in the city of Shusha. The main topics of this meeting will be related to transport and climate, and the establishment and expansion of transport links, a process closely tied to the unification of the Turkic world.
“The issues of starting the operation of the Middle Corridor and increasing freight transportation are at the forefront. All member countries of the Organization of Turkic States are cooperating here. I believe that at present, the world has a great need for the potential of the Middle Corridor,” noted the president.
As reported by the head of state, life is being restored in the liberated territories. Four cities and four villages have already been restored, and former displaced persons have returned there.
Noting that more than seven thousand former displaced persons are already living on their ancestral lands, and by the end of this year, the number will reach at least 20 thousand, the head of state emphasized that large-scale construction and landscaping work is underway, and Karabakh and East Zangezur will become some of the most developed regions in the world.
