The recent visit by University of Bologna Rector Giovanni Molari and his delegation to ADA University underscores a commitment to expanding their collaborative efforts beyond their current focus on agriculture and food sciences.
This visit, Rector Molari’s second to ADA University, highlighted key areas for collaboration, including humanities, the Italian Studies program, and the comprehensive “Azerbaijan Studies” program. This latter initiative aims to cover the rich tapestry of Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage, including its language, history, literature, music, architecture, theatre, cinema, and applied arts. The dialogue also covered innovative teaching methodologies and the utilization of the University of Bologna’s vast experience in cultural institution management.
In a significant move to bolster linguistic and cultural exchange, the universities discussed the introduction of Italian language and culture courses for students participating in the Italy-Azerbaijan University project. These discussions were part of broader meetings that included Azerbaijani cultural and educational ministers, Adil Karimli and Emin Amrullayev, focusing on the challenges and opportunities in the humanitarian field.
The visit also featured engagements with local cultural institutions, such as the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum and various historical and religious sites, emphasizing the practical aspects of cultural study and preservation.
The ongoing collaboration between ADA University and the University of Bologna, particularly in agriculture and food sciences, reflects a deepening partnership.
