From April 15 to 19 in The Hague, the International Court will hold hearings based on the preliminary objections raised by Azerbaijan in the case concerning the application of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (“Armenia vs. Azerbaijan”), according to a press release from the Court.
It is noted that on September 16, 2021, Armenia initiated proceedings against Azerbaijan, accusing it of violating the mentioned convention.
On April 21, 2023, Azerbaijan presented its preliminary objections to the court.
The first round of hearings, where oral arguments will be presented, is scheduled for April 15 (Azerbaijan) and April 16 (Armenia), with the second round on April 17 (Azerbaijan) and April 19 (Armenia).
