Sahiba Gafarova, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan (Milli Majlis), during a meeting with a delegation led by Marketa Pekarova Adamova, the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament, sharply criticized France’s behavior towards Azerbaijan.
Gafarova pointed out that France “does not want peace in the South Caucasus and supplies weapons to Armenia.” She stated that “such an approach does not serve peace and is aimed at igniting a new conflict.”
The Speaker emphasized that Azerbaijan has offered Armenia to sign a peace agreement based on five principles of international law. However, despite three years passing since the end of the conflict, Armenia continues to evade signing the peace agreement and delays fulfilling its obligations.
Gafarova declared that Azerbaijan respects the territorial integrity of all countries and demands respect for its own territorial integrity and sovereignty. She highlighted that territorial claims against Azerbaijan are reflected in the Constitution of Armenia and other legislative acts of that country.
