Telling sob stories, distorting facts, hyping myths

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has called on the international community "to play a role in protecting Armenian cultural heritage in the territories that have come under Azerbaijani control".

I will immediately take note of this highly inaccurate and provocative formulation, because the lands of our country, which were previously under Armenian occupation, did not come under the control of our state peacefully and without bloodshed. They were taken at the cost of the heroism and self-sacrifice of our soldiers.

But the Armenian Foreign Minister is trying to downgrade Azerbaijan’s big win as usual. Because our triumph is an all-Armenian fiasco, the collapse of the national myths of the Armenian people. And Mirzoyan, who grew up with these myths and repeated them, also considers himself a loser.

Since then, Armenia has been trying to accuse Azerbaijan of having re-established its territorial integrity by acting strictly according to Article 51 of the UN Charter. This is certainly a case of doom from the outset. Yerevan has no real arguments against our country. So they start singing about how they suffer. So the song that Mirzoyan is singing now is not a new one at all.

There are even “fans” of this Armenian repertoire in various countries of the world. I put the word “fans” in quotation marks for a reason, because in reality, all Armenian songs of a political-propagandistic nature become “popular” artificially, in order to satisfy the interests of various world powers. In their hands, Armenia and the world Armenian community have long been turned into a tool to put pressure on Türkiye and Azerbaijan. It is enough to recall at least the history of the mythical “Armenian genocide” in the Ottoman Empire. Official Ankara has opened its archives and has been calling for the Armenian side to do the same for many years. Armenia and the international Armenian community are not alone in their opposition. Several countries are ready to play the role of Türkiye’s accuser, even to the point of adopting laws to criminalise the denial of the “Armenian Genocide”. Moreover, although Türkiye’s economy is many times stronger than that of some members of this “Christian club”, it is not accepted in the EU. What is this if not Turkophobia and Islamophobia among those sponsoring Armenia? This explains why no sanctions were imposed on Armenia during the whole period of its occupation of 20 per cent of Azerbaijani territory. This happened despite the fact Armenia ignored the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the PACE, which stated in black and white the demand for the withdrawal of Armenian armed formations from the occupied Azerbaijani territories.

I am mentioning all this in order to make it clear who exactly is the target of Ararat Mirzoyan, who is speculating on the issue of “Armenian cultural heritage” in the liberated territories of our country. He hopes for the intervention of France and other European states, for the support of the loudmouths from various countries who are now launching an anti-Azerbaijani campaign in the PACE.

Incidentally, it is necessary to specify what “Armenian cultural heritage” Mirzoyan means in Karabakh. Is it not the historical heritage of Caucasian Albania, which is presented in Yerevan as something Armenian? And Mirzoyan is well aware of it. But there is a big difference between knowing and recognising. Especially when you head Armenian diplomacy. I would like to remind him that as a result of Armenia’s armed aggression in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, more than 900 settlements, about 150,000 houses and apartments with a total area of 9.1 million square metres, 4,366 social and cultural facilities, 2,389 industrial and agricultural facilities, 7,000 public buildings, 1,025 schools, 855 kindergartens, 798 medical facilities, including 695 hospitals and other medical institutions, 4 sanatoria and treatment complexes, 1,510 cultural facilities, 927 libraries, 598 communication facilities were destroyed. More than 40,000 valuable objects and rare exhibits were stolen from looted museums.

This is the reality. Remembering this, one comes to the conclusion that there is no limit to the hypocrisy of both Ararat Mirzoyan himself and the “fans” of old Armenian songs.
