The classical music concert “Seven Diamonds”, organized through the joint efforts of the Swiss-Azerbaijani Association for Friendship, Culture, and Solidarity, and the Zurich Association of Turkish Music, brightened the evening with its musical magnificence.
On this special night, to the sound of musical masterpieces, the hall united not only art enthusiasts but also diplomatic figures. With the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Switzerland, and the Turkish company InvestAz, significant dates were commemorated: the centenary of the Turkish Republic, the centenary of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, as well as Flag Day and Victory Day.
“Seven Diamonds” a title derived from the works (Seven Beauties) of the great 12th-century Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi and the eponymous ballet by the renowned Azerbaijani composer Kara Karayev, inspired seven outstanding female performers from the member countries of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary). They perfectly embodied the cultural diversity of their nations. In each note, in every piece of music by local composers, an anthem to peace and friendship among nations resonated.
Emre Uygun, the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Zurich, opening the concert, expressed gratitude to the sponsors and organizers for their invaluable contribution to strengthening the ties of brotherhood and cooperation between Turkic states. He noted that “Seven Diamonds” is not merely a concert but a promise of a cultural journey that begins in diverse geographical locales and converges upon common roots.
The event served as a vivid testament to how art can bridge peoples and cultures. It turned a new page in the annals of international cultural exchange and cooperation, showcasing the inspiring power of music that knows no borders or political barriers.
