According to the newspaper, the meeting was also attended by Samvel Babayan, former commander of the occupation forces of Karabakh, who is an active advocate for dialogue with Baku and the use of the Aghdam road.
Harutyunyan’s supporters, represented by “militiamen” under the command of Karen Matevosyan, will soon dismantle the concrete barriers installed on this road.
Harutyunyan said that “construction materials, diesel, medicines will be delivered via the Aghdam road, and food will be brought in via the Lachin road by the Russian peacekeepers.”
Harutyunyan also said that the next stage would involve discussions on gas and electricity, which would also be supplied from Azerbaijan, and in return the Armenian side is to open the Aghdam-Askeran-Khankendi-Shusha road.
Harutyunyan’s spokesperson denied reports of a “Security Council” meeting, but confirmed that her boss had had “closed-door talks with various government, political and public groups” on August 22 and 23.
According to the spokesperson, the leader of the separatists will soon personally disclose information about the situation and the plans.
