“Law enforcement authorities have discovered that prominent representatives of the current Armenian authorities are involved in the case,” the publication said, promising to reveal the names in the coming days.
On May 17 the National Security Service of Armenia reported the seizure of 1 ton of cocaine worth 250 million euros that had been brought to Armenia by a company importing fruits from Ecuador via Italy and Georgia.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on May 24 that the recipient of the cocaine was “a well-known company importing bananas to the republic,” the owner of which is a former MP and member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), currently on the wanted list. Pashinyan did not disclose the person’s name.
