“If we don’t take this step, there will be a new war, and the international community will not help us. I am not prepared to repeat the mistakes of 2020.”
“At the trilateral meeting in Brussels, I agreed that the foreign ministries of Armenia and Azerbaijan should start preparations for a peace treaty. The timeframe and format should be clarified and discussed. But it is part of our plans to sign the agreement as soon as possible,” Pashinyan said, speaking in the parliament on Wednesday.
According to him, there are risks with regard both to signing a peace treaty and to the border delimitation and security commission.
“We must clarify the official positions of Baku and Yerevan on the delimitation issue, use de jure relevant facts, gain legitimacy in the international community and reach consensus on the issue of the borders. We have until April 30 to elaborate the composition of the commission,” the Armenian Prime Minister said.
